Throughout the Bahía de Banderas transportation options from public buses, rentals cars, taxis and private drivers are readily available. Depending on the type of trip you desire to have, it is important to plan ahead to be able to maximize your experience. Here are some tips for each transportation option.

Public Buses

This is often the most economical choice. Buses run frequently between towns and tourist spots. Make sure to have small bills handy for fares, and check the routes in advance to avoid confusion.

The buses that run from PVR airport to Punta de Mita is the white ATM bus- you will see "Mita" written on the window and the drive up takes about an hour depending on traffic and number of stops the bus makes. 

To get to Sayulita you will take to green Compostela bus that has "Sayulita" written on the window. Buses throughout PV are also marked accordingly depending on their routes and destinations.

Rental Cars

Renting a car gives you the freedom to explore at your own pace. Ensure you have a good map or GPS, and familiarize yourself with local driving regulations. Parking can be limited in some areas, so plan accordingly. We recommend thoroughly reading through the rental agency's policies - especially on insurance - before booking your rental vehicle. Taxis

Taxis are widely available and can be a convenient option for short distances and/or airport transfers. It’s advisable to agree on a fare before starting your journey, especially if the taxi does not have a meter.

Private Drivers

Hiring a private driver can offer a more personalized experience. They can provide local insights and take you to off-the-beaten-path locations. Look for reputable services with good reviews or reach out directly to us on Whatsapp to book a reputable service.
